Banner supports ApplicationXtender as a 3rd party software for document imaging that integrates with modules such as Financial Aid, HR, Finance, and Student. ECU implemented Xtender about 12 years ago and today it houses millions of documents. In addition, ApplicationXtender can also be customized and used as a stand-alone application with no Banner integration. The versatility of this software makes it very useful to the campus community for storing documents. This presentation will talk about the need for both uses, give examples, and offer a live demo. In addition, we’ll touch on document retention – state regulations that stipulate how long certain documents must be retained and how ECU obtained approval for ApplicationXtender to become an official repository so some paper records can be destroyed.
